Andrea Verdis is a veteran teacher with over twenty-five years in education. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, she received her B.A from Towson University and her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction: Teaching Through the Integrated Arts from Lesley University. She has taught every grade from first through community college. For the last fourteen years she has concentrated on teaching theatre. She was nominated as a Teacher of Excellence by the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce, named a Top Teacher by WTOC, written theatre curriculum for both Baltimore and Savannah Chatham County Public Schools, served on the Maryland State Review Panel for Essential Curriculum in Theatre K-12 and been a presenter and panelist at the South East Theatre Conference. Mrs. Verdis has taught Shakespeare to children 4- 12 at the Mabel House Performing Arts Camp in Atlanta, Georgia as well as taught at the Performing and Visual Arts Camp at AASU and SCAD’s Arts Smart Camp. She has performed in, directed and/or designed over 100 productions both in Baltimore, Atlanta and Savannah.

Terresa Kizer holds a Bachelor of Science in Education, from Central Missouri State University, with majors in English, Speech, and Drama.  With nineteen years of teaching experience, she previously specialized in Speech and Debate, earning the title of National Qualifying Speech and Debate Coach.  She now applies her passion for nurturing young talent and building confidence in her students as Technical Theatre teacher.  She has been at SAA since 2006..

A Savannah native, he attended Norfolk State College as a Music major, and Old Dominion University as a Business major. He has been involved with theater tech since eighth grade. Having worked professionally as a musician,( national and world tours with various artists and bands), and in theater and stage productions for twenty-eight years, (Savannah Civic Center,  Madison Square Gardens, The Jefferson complex in Birmingham Ala), began working here at Savannah Arts Academy in 2007 seeking to offer an opportunity to students who aspire to enter the field of theater arts, an in depth look at what really goes on behind the scenes. The three years here have been quite fulfilling.
